Denim Barn

{jcp shirt; F21 maxi}

Yesterday I decided to make a delicious treat and husband ended up loving it.
I took some chicken and mixed it with some sour cream and salsa .

Then I took refrigerated roll dough and rolled out five rolls together
and piled the mixture on them with some slices of pepper jack cheese.

Next, I rolled them up and buttered the top of each one.
Then baked them for 10 minutes at 400 degrees.
They turned out super delicious.

Quote of the Day:
Finally I just said, "That's your uterus, you can't get rid of it"

{After work yesterday there was a hispanic family walking around temple square and one of the kids shouted}
"I want to take a picture with Abraham Lincoln!"

20 Minutes

{Hollister sweater; Guess top; Kohls jeggings; Papagallo boots}

{Take me back. You drive me wild with desire.}
I heart him :)
Last night I spent the evening with Natile.
I do love her.
We went to a relief society activity and then got $.75 pita bread at noodles & co.
Then finished off the evening with a trip to the mall.
We were looking for some volcom shorts but went home empty handed.
AJ's sister is supposed to be coming this weekend so I've been working on cleaning out Betsy's old room.
It's full of our presents still and quite a hassle figuring out where to put them.
So far I've completely filled the space under our bed and have moved to the downstairs family room.

Quote of the Day:
"I didn't even finish reading it cause I was like, whatever..."
{Mike H's silly homepage "quote"}

{About 7:30 AM before I left for work}
Me: "Want me to come eat with you today?"
AJ: "Yes"
Me: "What time?"
AJ: "Right now"
Me: "But you're sleeping"
AJ: "Okay give me 20 minutes"

Happy Birthday Mom!

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts.  ~Washington Irving

Today is my Mon ami's birthday!

This is a shoutout to her.
She lives across the pond so I was only able to talk to her on the phone a little before work today.
But they went to a movie and today she had lunch with a girlfriend.
I hope she has a great birthday today.
I love you Mom!

Shopping

 {F21 top; BigStar jeans, Steve madden boots}

Yesterday was awesome.
Work was spent sourcing for a marketing position.
It’s kind of a drag because the hiring manager is very particular about the kind of experience they want the best candidate to have.
We had a meeting later regarding the entire recruiting process.
We’ve brought on two vendors ronoc and nire.
They are working as recruiters and happen to be brother and sister.
We keep going over and over the recruiting process.
Dab wants to make sure everyone knows what they should be doing.
I think it’s been worked over to death.

After work, AJ and I went to the mall for some shopping adventures.
Hollister was having a sale and everything in the store was 40% off.
We ended up getting AJ a pair of jeans for only $25.
He was so funny in the dressing room because he’d put on a pair and come out and model them for me by strutting up and down the hallway and then stopping to stick out his booty and ask how it looked.
After that we headed over to JCP because Shi gave me two coupons for $10 off.
We found a denim shirt for me that was only $4.69 after the $10 off and a Vans shirt for AJ that was $5 after the $10 off.
Whoo hoo!

Next, we headed over to Brick Oven.

We got a deal there too because we split a personal pizza and a salad.
Plus they offer free rootbeer with a pizza order.
So the total price was only $13.
Super sweet for a sit down restaurant.

We were just dealing the night away.

When we got home, Betsy and Tod were there dropping some wedding gifts off.
They’re getting married next Thursday and wanted to store some gifts at the house.
It was fun talking to them for a few minutes.
They’re getting married in the Bountiful temple and staying at Grand America for three nights afterward.
Then they’re going to Hawaii for a week and staying in one of the Cook’s timeshares.
Lucky gooses.
I wish so badly I was going with them.

To top off the night, we went to a movie in the Imax theater at the Gateway.
It was called Born to be Wild in 3D.
It was sooo cooool!
The show featured world-renowned primatologist Dr. Birute Galdikas in Borneo who saves orangutans and elephant authority Dame Daphne Sheldrick in the Kenyan savannah along with their teams who rescue, rehabilitate and return orphaned animals back into the wild.
I wish the show was longer and showed more animals but it was very interesting so if you get a chance you should go see it.

Quote of the Day:
Wes: "Mom, your new name is fart"

While AJ was up in the kitchen, I snuck upstairs and hid in the bathroom.
When he was coming down the hall to go downstairs I jumped out to scare him.
He froze in mid stance with knees bent and arms out and screamed like a woman.
It was by far one of the funniest things I've ever seen him do.

Children

{Calvin Klein shift; Report shoes}
Saturday we slept in til one pm.
I woke up and turned to AJ saying how lucky we are because we can sleep in so late.
We went to Kohls and got AJ some new church socks.
Later I was supposed to go to Betsy's bridal shower down in Provo with Maureen and Anne.
We drove around the neighborhood for half an hour looking for Kristen and Ashley beforehand.
Turned out they'd gone with Landon to Baskin Robbins.
I thought we should have just left them especially when we found them and they didn't want to go.
Total it was Me, Maureen, Anne, Kirsten, Ashley, Bridgette, and Madix.
Turned out none of them wanted to be left at their aunts house in Provo so we brought them to the shower.
So we were half an hour late to the shower and after 10 minutes the kids didn't want to stay.
So Anne left and came back for me and Maureen at 8.
I sat and talked to Sherri and the food was amazing.

Today was church.
I just got called to be a primary teacher for the 5 year olds.
It was like death.
The moment I walked in I remembered how much I hated primary.
Now I have to sit through it as an adult.
The little boys in our class were all super cute but couldn't sit still.
It'll definitely be a trial for me.

Quote of the Day:

Sis. Bond: "What did the lesson teach us today?"
Joseph: "Last night my family dyed easter eggs."

Hairstylist: "I can write your name down and you can come back."
AJ: "Ok"
Hairstylist: "What's your name?"
AJ: "AJ"
Hairstylist: "How do you spell that?"
AJ: "A-J"
Hairstylist: "It's been a long day"

Floral

{F21 cardy; F21 top; F21 pants; Report boots}
I've had a lot on my mind recently.
Driving to work I blanked out after Farmington; didn't even realize til I was in north slc.
SL and MB are fighting.
SL works down near the Legacy theater a lot now.
I like it down there; it's nice and quiet.

I had an interview with shared services for an HR Assistant position.
I thought it went really great.
The recruiter, Bruce, made me feel more relaxed and the other two interviewers, Mike H. and Julie H. were very nice.
While we're waiting for Mike to come in Bruce says to  me.
"Tell Julie what I called you when we first met"
.....
{Flashback: Bruce walks out of his office}
Bruce: "Brittany"
{I turn to look then say}
Me: "Melissa"
Bruce: "Oh Melissa, that's right. I can't believe I got that wrong. I bet you don't know my name though."
Me: "Bruce"
.....
{Back to Julie, the interviewer}
Bruce: "So I'm indebted to find her a job now"

I had a second interview the next day with Cory L.
He was new and more uptight.
He got off track a lot and up on his soapbox most of the time.
It was a boost meeting him the day after the first interview because he makes the final decision.
I'm still not sure how I feel about working in the fishbowl though.

Brad brought in a new recruiter, Eryn.
Shi knows her from when she was at Landesk.
She learned all about CandidateSource yesterday.
Now BB wants me to show him reporting.
It's all a bit weird around here now with Brad.
Luckily he's getting checked out.
Hopefully some good comes from that.

Pretty sure we're buddy passing it now for our trip to England.
AJ thinks he can get them for sure.
Hopefully he does soon; I'm getting nervous about ticket prices.
We'll be flying through JFK because AJ is hoping we'll get stuck there a day.
I think we'll just be hanging around the aiport.
Space A-ing it.
Praying our hearts out.

Quote of the Day:
Me: "You have to check with above?" {gestures hand near top of  head} "or above?" {points upward}

"I hate crossing my legs because then my computer's slanted"

Faux Ug

Not much happened yesterday because I was mucho sick.
I think.
I was feeling light headed, my eyes seemed watery, and my nose was running.
I left work at 11 and went to buy some Theraflu and Ibuprofen.
I sat in bed and worked til about 4 then couldn't take it anymore.
I fell asleep and slept til 9 pm.
Jeez I think I was exhausted.
I went back to bed around 11 pm hoping I'd wake up feeling better.
That was my day.
{F21 jacket; Downeast shirt; F21 pants; Target boots}
Yes, I wear these boots.
I know it's such a scandal.
Every time I put them on I should take them right back off.
But it's not my fault they feel like slippers
and protect the bottom of my pants from dragging.
I suffer from jean-drag-a-phobia.

Quote of the Day:
M: "Word on the street is you denied AJ's friend request.
We're coming in June and he's going to demand a throw down as soon as we get there."

Faux Fur

Yesterday was super fun because I got to have lunch with a good friend.
We sat and talked for two and a half hours.
It was lovely.
She gave me some amazing news too.
More later.
[She's prego; due Nov]
 Later we got a pita at the pit and went to fhe at the Wheelwrights.
Then watched Seven Pounds.
I always cry during that movie.

Quote of the Day:
"I think one day, you'll think I'm gonna let sleep gooch with us"
{Correction: You think one day I'll let Gooch sleep with us}

Me: "Shi sent me a pic of my boyfriend"
{Open attachment}
Me: "Oh dang, that's a good one"
AJ: "He's a stud"
Me: "I wonder if he's real"
AJ: "Because you want to get to know him"

Phil

Birthdays.

AJ's brother Phil came up to hang out again this weekend.
Little did we know his birthday was Thursday, April 14th.

And today is my brother's brithday.
April 18th.

So this is a tribute to them.
 Made some cute little bags for each of them.
This is the only pic I have of Phil. {He prefers Phillip}
 Some cake.
My brother, he's pretty cool.
I cheated Phil because I had more photos of my brother.
Oh and I missed my own father's tribute because I didn't think to do this until yesterday.
I'll have to do his another day.

Quote of the Day:

{text convo}
N: "Hey how are you?"
M: "Fine, you?"
N: "You don't seem okay."
M: "Wow, I'm surprised you picked up on that. You're right, I'm kind of upset."
N: "I'm kind of upset right now too."
M: "Oh really, why?"
N: "My pants are too tight and I'm stuck in Sandy"

Straightener

Friday I got home from work and found this.
Stinky bugger.
That thing was expensive.

Today, me and AJ, AJ and I, us, we, the conglomerate, took some friends up flying.
It was a surprise for Jeff's 30th birthday.
We flew over to Park City and around to Provo then to Salt Lake.
Me and Melodee got super sick sitting in the back.
Afterward, we went to Tucano's and had lunch for AJ's work.

When we got home and I finally checked my phone, Alyssa had invited us to a BBQ at 3:00.
Needless to say, I was pretty bummed we missed that.

We also got Betsy's invitation in the mail.
It looked super great.
She's such a gorgeous lady.
It's exciting she's getting married.

Quote of the Day:
"This chocolate cake would finish her off"

80's Night

Guess what we did last night?
80's night at Area 51!

Sooo much fun. Holy yes!
F21 sweater; F21 dress; Thrifted belt; Target tights; Forever Young boots

Quote of the Day:
"You're depriving the world of your greatness"

"I gotta wear these so people can't tell where I'm looking"
"Where are you looking...?"

{My friend at work showed me a video of her little boy dressed up as a Lamanite.
 He had tucked a styrofoam sword in his sweat pants.
While asking about his outfit she said...}

"Show me the sword in your pants"

Spotlighting

Had another job interview.
For the seventy this time as an ES.
She said they were on the third floor but when I went to the cob it was a ghost town.
I went to ask Shane and Bruce walked me over to the administration building.
I told him I didn't think people were allowed in here.
He told me not to go wandering about.
There was a guard at the door and we had to show our badges to get in.
It went well.
The first guy was nice and the second very serious.
I'm still waiting to hear back.

SL keeps talking like she's leaving soon.
They're setting May 28th as the day.
I've been getting a lot more responsibilities.
I've become the "focal point" for CS openings, closing, postings, and offer letters now.

F21 Maxi dress; F21 blazer; Nats necklace
Some dinner at Rio

Quote of the Day:
{An email from MattB ie. BradB}
M,
Could you please be the focal point for everything in the world going forward?

Great, please plan on that.

Team:
Please welcome M to her new role of focal point of everything in the world. We wish her well in her new assignment!

$300 Pizza Run

Finally some good weather.
Know what that means?
A trip to Logan and a pizza joint.

Quote of the Day:
  I decided to make a coupon book for my man.
A: "This is so great. I'm going to use them all the time."
{His made-up convo}
"I'm going to work."
"One hour massage"
"No, I gotta go to work"
"I have a coupon!"

Pretend Pregnant

Every time I have to tell husband something he always guesses first that I'm going to tell him I'm pregnant.
It's an on-going battle in our household.
So for some reason I decided to put on an outfit that would resemble a pregnancy cover-up.
Let me tell you, the first five pictures taken I did look pregnant.
Thus I took it off straight away.
Then I realized the last time I wore this shirt, my good friend asked if I was.
Maybe I should just burn it, or give it away.
While taking these pictures tho, I did come up with a really great prank that I could pull on my husband.

{F21 top; Hollister sweater; F21 leggies; Breckelle boots}

I've come up with a conclusion. Don't hold your breath, it's not that serious.
I eat yogurt because it's good for me, aids digestion, yada yada yada.
But I really don't like it because it makes me want to gag.
Really. I'm just now realizing this.
My gag reflex acts up with every bite and I have to calm it down in order to swallow.

Kind of a shame because yogurt usually tastes pretty good and is good for you.

Quote of the Day:
Me: "I was on this morning but then I lost the internet"
AJ: "Where'd it go?"

Weekends

Isn't it April?
We were all set to go flying on Saturday but woke up to this.
Of course, we've tried to go flying for the past three Saturdays but they're always wet and rainy.
So instead we decided to get our flying fix by going to Rickenbackers.
The food is superb and we always have a perfect view of the Ogden runway.
Of course, no one was taking off or landing in this kind of weather.

I did a post about this restaurant the last time we came here. It can be found HERE.
Here's a few other things we did this weekend.
  • AFCU
  • Groceries
  • HANNA
  • Church (New calling as a Primary teacher)
  • Dinner at Johnnie & Maureen's
  • Taboo & Scrabble with Mae, Nats, Justin, & Brittany
Quote of the Day:
{In the car on our way to church}
AJ: "You look really nice"
Me: "Thanks, so do you"
AJ: "You're just saying that to get in my pants"

Later that day...
Me: "That was so funny when you said earlier, "you're just saying that to get in my pants""
AJ: "It's true, sneaky devil"
